It’s been an unprecedented year for the world, and for all of us here at Inductive Automation. While it certainly hasn’t been an easy year for many, our team found ways to rapidly respond to our changing global situation, while growing new programs and initiatives and building the Ignition community to be even stronger. Inductive Automation has seen growth both within our company and outside in the community.

California summer is in full swing around Inductive Automation’s Folsom office, but our minds are focused on fall. Why, you ask? We’re deep into preparations for our annual gathering: the Ignition Community Conference. When we started planning our first ICC back in 2013, we could only hope that it would turn into the amazing event it is today; yet every year there are more attendees, more expert speakers, and more valuable tools being shared throughout our community. Many thought leaders from the industrial automation community will be presenting over the course of the three-day event, from a variety of industry backgrounds, with stories and expertise you can’t find anywhere else.

Machine learning (ML) technology has existed for decades and, with all of the recent interest in IIoT and Industry 4.0, now seems to be capturing the attention of more manufacturers. A lot of our Ignition community members have shown interest in the subject, and our Co-Directors of Sales Engineering Travis Cox and Kevin McClusky, and Senior Software Engineer Kathy Applebaum, shared some of their collective knowledge about ML on a recent "Design Like a Pro" webinar.
