Gartner Names Inductive Automation a Cool Vendor for 2016

Only Five Companies Received This Honor

FOLSOM, Calif. (April 25, 2016) — Gartner, Inc., the world's leading IT research and advisory company, has named Inductive Automation as one of its Cool Vendors in Managing Operational Technology in a Digital Business, 2016. Gartner analysts chose only five companies to be on this year’s list. The report, which was released today, highlights innovative vendors, products and services.

In its report, Gartner wrote that “Inductive Automation makes it easy and cost-effective to integrate manufacturing data from tools, sensors and process monitoring equipment into a working system to run the manufacturing operation effectively.” The report also stated that Ignition, Inductive Automation’s industrial applications platform, “provides unlimited clients, tags, device connections and designers for one server license price, so it scales well economically for large OT projects.”

“Gartner is a highly respected company, so it’s an honor for Inductive Automation to be recognized as a Cool Vendor,” said Don Pearson, chief strategy officer for Inductive Automation. “We are constantly striving to produce better results for our customers, and innovation has always been a big part of that. We’re thrilled to be recognized by Gartner for our commitment to innovation. Plus, we just like the idea of being considered ‘cool.’”

Companies do not apply for the honor; they can only be nominated by Gartner analysts who are very familiar with the market space and vendor landscape. Gartner analysts speak with numerous customers of a company when considering it for the Cool Vendor list.

Inductive Automation has shown rapid growth in its 13 years in business. That includes average annual revenue growth of 61 percent over the past six years. Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform is used in more than 100 countries. It’s also used in 41 of the Fortune 100 companies. Gartner provides research and consulting services to approximately 10,000 clients in 90 countries. The Gartner Cool Vendors report can be found here.
