Description

Roeslein Simple Shift UDT

This UDT and accompanying setup screens were designed to help give quick access to different information usually needed during many productivity calculations. With minimal setup, shifts will be auto tracked on a rolling 7 day period. The UDT also tracks planned downtime events such as lunch and break times and exposes the amount of planned downtime which can be used to more accurately calculate production and/or OEE rates. The supplied setup screens allow for quick in project updating of shift details.

Setup –

Restoring the provided gateway backup will create a gateway with all resources and an example already setup.

The UDT can be added anywhere in the tag tree but may not work with the setup screens unless the following structure is used.

a.       Add a folder where the UDT instance will reside

b.       Add the UDT instance to the folder and name it “Shift”

c.       In the “Setup” folder there is a “Lines” dataset tag

d.       Add a row to the dataset. In the “Line” column type in the folder name for the new shift instance. In the “Display Name” column add a name you wish to show in the dropdown of the main setup screen.

e.       After that, you can run the project and use the setup screens to alter the different times.

Main setup screen functionality

a.       There are 2 main sections of this screen.

    i.      The left side of the screen is for shift and planned downtime times for the current week. At the start of the day, the 7th day out will be auto-populated with the shift or planned downtime from the default values for that proper day of the week.

ii.      The right side of the screen is for default shift and planned downtime for each day of the week. For example, in this section, you can define what you want the shift schedule to be for every “Sunday”. If your shifts don’t change based on the day simply set each day to the same values. Please note that if you update the day of the week that is the same as the current day of the week, the current shift or planned downtime will not change. To update that schedule you will need to use the left section of the screen.

b.       To view the current values for each day, select the desired date or day from the dropdowns at the top of each section.

c.       To update the values in the tables, click the button at the top of the desired table and a popup will appear.

d.       Select the desired date in the popup and a table will appear with the configuration options. Once your updates are complete the “Close” button will finalize the changes and close the popup.
