Job Description
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the Account Executive 1 and Account Executive Associate teams, supporting operations required to implement the organization’s sales strategies and drive revenue growth. This includes responsibility for driving and achieving the Account Executive 1 and Account Executive Associate team sales targets.
This role is responsible for defining and achieving what “front line” experience and success means for the tier 1 Account Executives and Account Executive Associates. Attention to customer experience is vital, as is a data oriented approach to sales execution. The Sales Manager should provide accurate and beneficial information to senior management in order to help guide the strategic development of our Account Executive 1 and Account Executive Associate efforts, improve sales training, and account development strategy. This is a full-time position with hybrid and on-site opportunities available.

Responsibilities
- Forecasting and developing annual sales quotas, projecting expected sales volume
- Cultivating monthly pipeline projections that map to the established monthly sales targets for individual Account Executives
- Monitoring sales performance metrics to identify areas of improvement to help enhance performance
- Managing the successful implementation of processes, tools, and structures to support the direct sales team
- Driving adoption of new sales strategies and tools to optimize performance
- Providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and mentorship to sales team members to improve performance and motivation
- Fostering a positive and motivating work environment to encourage high performance, team cohesion and participation
- Ensuring company policy or procedural changes are effectively communicated to team
- Conducting regular employee check-ins, 90 day and annual reviews with employees
- Providing constructive feedback and progressive discipline plans if necessary
- Providing monthly data analysis and reporting on sales team performance
- Working with other divisions to ensure the sales team can work as efficiently as possible
- Approving timecards and vacation requests, ensuring team coverage
- Participating in interviewing, onboarding, and training Account Executives I, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, related field, or relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in software sales and 1-3 years of management experience
- Experience managing in a high-tech industry is strongly preferred
- Exposure to SCADA is very helpful or other industrial operations software
- Ability to coach sales tactics and strategies using strong leadership skills
- Unquestionable work ethic and dedicated to customer service
- Strongly goal driven and able to prioritize accordingly
- Exceptional communication skills: written, verbal and active listening
- Proven ability to design and recommend sales programs and set short- and long-term sales strategies
- Lives within two hours of Folsom, CA Headquarters
Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $135k-$150k.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
