Exciting changes are coming to the Inductive Automation account. We just rolled out a major update that provides a more modern, streamlined, and secure experience for the Ignition community. Our goal is to make account management more accessible and intuitive, empowering you to take control of your information with self-service tools instead of having to rely on Inductive Automation support.
The new account application update lays the foundation for a more unified experience across all Inductive Automation platforms, and it’s the first step in preparing for the upcoming Workspaces application, which was announced at ICC 2024 and is launching later this year.
A Modern UI For A Better Experience
We’ve completely redesigned the UI using Material Design patterns and modern web technologies like React, ensuring a more responsive and user-friendly experience. The new design brings mobile-responsive components and a consistent look across both the account and upcoming Workspaces application.
With a focus on accessibility and usability, the updated UI consolidates key account information — including Inductive University progress, training records, and email preferences — in one central location. Also, you can now upload an avatar, which is displayed next to your name across multiple platforms, including the Inductive Automation account and Workspaces.
Enhanced Security With Auth0
To strengthen security, we integrated Auth0 as our identity provider (IDP). Auth0 provides a secure, single sign-on experience across Inductive Automation’s systems, making logging in easier and protecting your data with enhanced authentication and authorization measures.
Transitioning From IU Groups To Organizations
The IU Groups feature will remain accessible in the legacy account application until Workspaces is fully implemented. However, once Workspaces launches, IU Groups will be decommissioned. At that time, users who rely on this feature will need to transition to the new Organizations feature, which offers enhanced group-management tools.
The Organizations feature allows you to join or create groups, manage access, and collaborate more effectively. You can view and join available organizations, accept invitations, and track pending membership requests. Also, unlike the IU Groups system, membership is not restricted by email domain, providing greater flexibility in how you engage with different teams and projects.
New Features And Upgrades
As part of the revamped account, we’re introducing a variety of new features and improvements to enhance usability, security, and customization. From streamlined account management to improved progress tracking, these updates will provide a better experience for all users.
Profile Management
You now have greater control over your profile settings, with new fields including phone number, job title, and country. You can also upload an avatar, and delete the account if needed.
Email Preferences
We have simplified email preferences management by consolidating all of the settings within the Inductive Automation account instead of a separate page. You can opt in or out of various subscription lists, including the newly added Integrators, ICC Updates, Account, and User Feedback lists.
Even if you don’t have an IA account, you can still manage your email subscriptions securely through a special unauthenticated page.
Training & Certifications
The Account Training section (formerly Certification Status) is now the central hub for tracking your Inductive University credential, along with your Ignition Core and Gold certification progress and history. You can also purchase Core and Gold tests directly within the account application.

These extensive account changes are just the beginning. The Workspaces application will introduce even more new features and improvements for training, credential tracking, and collaboration.
