The IT Support Specialist operates as the primary contact for Help Desk operations. You are responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards. This will include PC connectivity, printers, scanners, Wi-Fi, VoIP phones, multifunction devices, and handling network troubleshooting. The position will include interaction with departments to resolve any IT related issues. It will include troubleshooting and improving our network infrastructure and the management & administration of it.

Additionally, you will work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems relating to both hardware and software. You will interact with numerous computer platforms to ensure computers connect seamlessly with various systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers and administrative systems. You will train and orient staff on the use of hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal systems, email system, computer stations and phone system
  • Ensure secure access to the network
  • Research and implement new tools and systems for multiple departments
  • Schedule, implement and maintain upgrades and security
  • Research and Implement new technology to help IT run smoothly and efficiently
  • Setup and maintain workstations and software for new and existing staff
  • Provide break-fix support for desktops and OS
  • Provide support for desktop applications and software
  • Provide support for system devices such as printers, mobile phones and tablets
  • Add, Update or Disable user accounts, password resets in Active Directory
  • Purchases company equipment
  • Responsible for the Inventory of hardware and software system
  • Troubleshoot technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.

Requirements

  • CompTA A+ or Equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in IT Information Technology
  • General networking experience (firewalls, routers, switches, subnets, VLAN, etc)
  • Familiar with Windows Domain and its services such as Active Directory, DNS, RDP & GPOs
  • Familiar with Windows Desktops and Servers
  • Able to setup and debug laptop, workstation and server hardware
  • Effective communicating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to diagnose and solve issues efficiently and completely
  • Ability to work well independently once given projects or actions to solve
  • Skills not required, but a plus

    • Working with OSX platforms
    • Familiar with Linux
    • Issue Tracking and Documentation Software
    • PowerShell is a very good plus as it will align with your duties
    • Experience using Web support tools such as GoToMeeting, WebEx, etc.
    • Database skills, Web server, and IIS experience
    • Knowledge of MS Office products, MS SQL Server, G-Suite
    • Experience in VMware or virtualization
