Job Description
Inductive Automation is looking for an innovator comfy with codebase and who has fun participating in the full software engineering lifecycle to join us as a Software System Engineer.
In this role you'll build and manage internal projects including the company's CRM using tools like APIs, databases, Python, and our own Ignition. Some engineers design bridges or build engines, but your superpower is crafting code that makes things work. We like people with a pioneering spirit — maybe you haven't sent astronauts to the Moon (yet), but you totally could.

About You
The right fit for this position is someone who can do it all from design to development, testing, and deployment of top-notch software. Fluent in multiple programming languages and familiar with industrial automation, you’re equally happy forging new features or squashing bugs.
About the Role
The Software System Engineer's job skills, qualifications, and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Participating in software design for features and bug fixes
- Implementing code that is clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others
- Debugging and filing issues in development, test, and production
- Improving the development experience by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and/or code clean-up
- Maintaining responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their code: development tools, test, production and subsequent fixes and improvements
- Contributing to team activities and collaborating within the team to solve problems
- Performing code reviews and providing feedback recognized by the team as helpful
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering; and 2-4 years of experience gained through employment that demonstrates the necessary knowledge outlined in the additional requirements below:
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases
- Familiarity with Web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS)
- Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu Server and Desktop)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Java
- Familiarity and experience in CRM system
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills
- Preferred: knowledge or experience with Ignition software

- Preference given to candidates with knowledge or experience with Ignition software

Pay
Published rates are based on Sacramento area; pay for remote positions is reviewed & established based on specific location. Depending on level of experience.- L1: 75-85K
- L2: 85-100k
- L3: 100-115k
- L4: 115 - 135k
