She has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from California State University, Sacramento, where she now teaches night classes in computer science. In her spare time, she hikes with her husband and mastiff, bikes, and mentors a running group.

Big changes have been happening in Java lately; the most notable change being Java’s new 6-month release cycle for major versions. In the past year, we’ve seen the release of Java 9, Java 10, and Java 11. Support for Java Web Start was dropped in Java 11 and some garbage collectors were dropped in Java 9. Obviously, this can quickly get confusing for Ignition users, so one of the main focuses of Ignition v7.9.10 is to make these changes easier for you.

Things are very busy here in Inductive Automation’s software engineering division. We are working full speed on getting Ignition 8 done, and we hope you will be as excited as we are about all of its new features. But that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped working on Ignition v7.9. In fact, we’ve just released Ignition v7.9.9, which contains over 40 new features and bug fixes.

As Inductive Automation has grown, we’ve been able to add a team of developers who are dedicated to adding small features and fixing bugs in Ignition. That team has been very busy lately, adding over 280 features and fixes to Ignition v7.9.5!
