From Mice to Dinosaurs, Master Inventor Andy Stanford-Clark Finds Practical Uses for IoT Lauren Walters Thu, 11/01/2018 - 14:02
At Inductive Automation, we’re always excited when we get to work with innovative thinkers. It was a thrill to host one such figure, Andy Stanford-Clark of IBM, for a talk called “Andy Explains the Internet of Things — and Mousetraps.” The talk was sponsored by Inductive Automation and presented on September 20th at the Harris Center in Folsom, California, where ICC 2018 had concluded the previous day. A crowd of well over 300 people, including many ICC attendees, joined IA for an evening of inspiration, conversation, and Internet of Things (IoT) innovation with one of the leading minds in the industry.

Igniting Success: How 2018’s Discovery Day Supported Oil & Gas Innovation Don Pearson Fri, 08/24/2018 - 11:08
One of my favorite things about Ignition is the fact that it brings people together, sometimes in ways we don’t even anticipate. A few weeks ago in Denver, Colorado, we were thrilled to co-host an event with industry partners Seeq, FreeWave Technologies, Cirrus Link Solutions, and Streamline Control Solutions along with the support from the Ignition Oil and Gas Collective, a group of Ignition community members in the oil and gas sector. This collective was created by professionals in the industry to forge connections and collaborate as they work in Ignition.

California summer is in full swing around Inductive Automation’s Folsom office, but our minds are focused on fall. Why, you ask? We’re deep into preparations for our annual gathering: the Ignition Community Conference. When we started planning our first ICC back in 2013, we could only hope that it would turn into the amazing event it is today; yet every year there are more attendees, more expert speakers, and more valuable tools being shared throughout our community. Many thought leaders from the industrial automation community will be presenting over the course of the three-day event, from a variety of industry backgrounds, with stories and expertise you can’t find anywhere else.

The 2018 Ignition Community Conference will be here before you know it, which means it’s almost time to see what our incredibly innovative community members from many different countries and industries have been building lately with Ignition.
Ignition Takes the Stage at the 2018 ARC Industry Forum Don Pearson Tue, 03/13/2018 - 15:00
At our fifth consecutive year at the ARC Industry Forum in Orlando, Florida, this past February, I couldn’t help but think how far we’ve come as a company since our first visit to that show in 2014. Back then, the Ignition platform had only been around for a short time. We were the new kid on the block and we often heard questions like “Who is Inductive Automation?” and “What the heck is Ignition?”
5 Interesting Takeaways from the S4x18 ICS Security Conference Carl Gould Wed, 01/31/2018 - 09:30
Last week I attended the S4x18 Conference in Miami Beach. S4 is one of the premier conferences in the industrial control systems (ICS) security space, and is attended by many of the security researchers in our space, as well as by many asset owners of critical infrastructure.
